Non-Phone 3 owners, your Android 16 update is here. Owner of other models? Well, we’ll have to wait a little longer. Additionally, the company’s Nothing OS 4.0 update brings together Google’s latest mobile software along with a host of UI improvements.

Along with Android 16, Nothing OS 4.0 is said to offer a smoother and smoother experience. The company promises “faster responses, clearer graphics, smoother interactions” and much more. With this in mind, app transitions, notification shade and gestures have been redesigned to be responsive “with sharper tactility and depth”.

Nothing has also redone its own icons, with a more refined and minimalist style. “The home screen is balanced, modern and comfortable,” the company says. The status bar icons have been refined and inspired by the style of Android 16. There are also new lock screen clocks to choose from and an “Extra Dark Mode” designed for night reading.

The Glyph interface has always been one of Nothing’s most unique features and will also be getting some updates. Glyph Progress integrates with over-the-air updates for Android 16. “Routes, deliveries, and timers now sync across the Glyph screen and interface,” as the company describes it.

Most other devices will see it “in the coming weeks.” Devices from the company’s (recently discontinued) CMF brand will receive the update in late 2025. Owners of the 3a Lite phone will ultimately have to wait until “early next year.”
