Columbia Sportswear is back with a new Star Wars collaboration and this year the brand has shifted focus from the Sith Lords to the forests of Endor for its annual collection. The aptly named film is Columbia’s biggest Star Wars release to date: a 20-member cast recreating the look and feel of the Rebel Alliance mission. Return of the Jedi and still function as everyday outerwear.
Unlike previous collaborations, this collection is about the environment. Endor’s dense forest, much like the Pacific Northwest terrain that Columbia regularly designs, defines the theme. The pieces, including a statement poncho that will make you feel right at home in Galaxy’s Edge, are instantly recognizable to Star Wars fans, but practical for everyday wear.
Most Columbia launches will take place on December 11, 2025 at 6:30 AM PST / 9:30 AM ET / 2:30 PM PST. eastern time. DST for Columbia Greater Rewards members, followed by general availability at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET / 3 p.m. AND. Pacific Time. Signing up is free and, like Lego Insiders, is one of the best ways to increase your chances of getting a piece before it’s gone.
“We worked carefully to ensure our versions reflected the same imperfect, authentic look. Finally, we used our waterproof and breathable Omni-Tech fabric so you’re truly ready for real adventures.”
Disney park fans may notice that the poncho resembles the rain gear worn by the cast of Batuu – a subtle touch that gives the design a Canon park look.
Some of Columbia’s core technologies have also undergone Star Wars-specific modifications. “Our trade-in system was perfect for General Han Solo’s trench coat. It gave us the opportunity to offer fans Han’s beautiful one-piece trench coat and iconic vest,” said Steele. “The inside of the vest also features Columbia’s award-winning Omni-Heat Infinity technology, which we’ve updated this year with Rebel logos in the heat-reflective design.”
The same lining appears on the Endor Issue Cargo Vest, continuing the tradition of custom Omni-Heat designs unique to each annual collaboration.
Shoes get the same treatment. “The Endor Issue boot also features incredible innovations: our advanced Omni-Max cushioning, a TechLite midsole and an Omni-Grip outsole, creating a truly functional and trail-ready boot,” says Steele.
The range extends beyond outerwear to vests, shirts, hats and accessories such as cargo backpacks and down jackets. A line of kids’ fleece inspired entirely by Ewoks, even in baby and toddler sizes, uses furry fleece and concept art accents to create something fun without veering into costume territory. It’s definitely one of the cutest pieces in the collection and many adults will probably want their own size.
As usual, Columbia hides a number of narrative details in the plot. Steele’s favorites include “the addition of original concept art on the cover, the Ewok wool patch, and the Bright Tree Village t-shirt, as well as the actual location map that appears on the shoe box and on the back of one of our long-sleeve t-shirts.” He added: “We treasure every little piece of our Star Wars collections… It’s almost like we have a real piece of Star Wars history.”
– now in its tenth year – has become an annual tradition. Last year’s Vader line focused on interpreting a character’s aesthetic into functional clothing. This year’s approach is more holistic, translating an entire environment and its underlying design into equipment for real-world use.
This development reflects the brand’s deepening creative relationship with Lucasfilm. “We love to incorporate our best technology into every Star Wars collection, so fans get truly functional items and not just collectibles,” said Steele.
“The Lucasfilm team is a great partner who helps us deepen the stories in each collection. Each episode is different, and digging into the details of Star Wars history with their team helps us create the best products possible.”
For 2025, the design team took inspiration from Endor’s greatest rebels and incorporated “asymmetrical stitching, daisies, cargo pockets, rank insignia and custom hang tags,” explains Steele. The jackets also feature narrative Aurebesh patches that fans can translate.
The collaboration itself is a deeply integrated, multi-year process. “These collections take years to develop and we communicate continuously from concept to launch,” says Steele. “By launching ten collections together, we have created an incredible level of trust between the brands and we are very excited to bring these collections to life with them each year.”
It officially launches tomorrow, December 11, 2025 at 07:00 PT / 10:00 ET / 15:00 BST for everyone, but if you sign up for the Greater Rewards membership, which is free, you can start 30 minutes earlier.
