- Apple’s Wallet app previously showed users unwanted ads
- iOS 26 introduced a way to disable these notifications
- They are always on by default, so you have to disable them manually
Apple’s Wallet app is designed as a place to store payment methods, digital IDs, boarding passes and car keys on your phone, so you can quickly find this information without having to remove your wallet. But in early 2025, Apple introduced an unpopular new Wallet feature that quickly sparked a backlash, and now it looks like you’ll have the option to disable it thanks to iOS 26.
This new feature consisted of the introduction of portfolio ads sent via push notifications. In particular, people started noticing ads related to Apple’s F1 movie in early 2025. With people paying full price for the best iPhones, some saw this as an unnecessary and unwanted intrusion on Apple’s part that damaged the company’s premium position.
But with the introduction of iOS 26, there’s now a way to put ads into your wallet. This would allow you to use the app again for its intended purpose, without being interrupted by annoying notifications.
Disable ads in the Wallet app
To disable portfolio ads: Open the Wallet app Then on your iPhone Press the “…” button. in the upper right corner. To choose Notificationssince dTurn on the switch next to “Offers and Promotions.” at the end of the list. This should prevent the wallet app from sending you apps when the power switch is off.
From this menu, you can also disable notifications about orders, pre-authorized payments, and new features and updates. There is also a section dedicated to transaction notifications where you can pause notifications for all transactions, only those related to a specific payment card or for Apple’s Daily Cash feature. All of these settings were available before iOS 26, but Apple’s latest operating system added controls for offers and promotions.
This suggests that Apple has been listening to user feedback, which is perhaps not surprising given the volume. However, the Offers & Promotions setting is enabled by default, so you’ll need to take the time to open the Wallet app and disable it yourself. However, it can give you a slightly better iOS experience that is less plagued by unwanted intrusions and interruptions.
