Multiple buses Episode 7 has arrived on Apple TV and while nothing new is revealed about The Others and/or The Joining, it’s still an extremely important episode.

Entitled “The Gap”, Multiple busesThe final entry splits its time between protagonist Carol and Manousos. I suspected team building was going on after this. Multiple buses Episode 6 and despite everything that happens to them – and especially Manouso – in The Gap, I feel even more confident that their paths will cross soon.

Does Manousos die in episode 7 of Pluribus?

No. We don’t know if he survives the fatal injuries he receives at The Gap. Given that he has thus far been seen as a main character in the science fiction mystery drama, killing him off would be a disappointing end to his time on the show.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. In the latest episode of the Apple TV series, the Manousos search for Carol, only a third of the way through. And for the next ten minutes, we see Manousos travel around the country learning English through a recorded language course so he can communicate with Carol when they finally meet.

Finally, he reaches a point that his trusty convertible cannot pass: the Darien Gap, a dense and dangerous 100 km wide rainforest that serves as a bridge between Colombia and Panama. There he is met by a small group of Others, who ask Manousos not to attempt to cross the isolated and treacherous jungle.

But if we’ve learned anything from one of the most important supporting characters from the best Apple TV shows, it’s that he’s stubborn to the core. Manousos then ignores the others’ request and continues to search for Carol.

As expected, it will soon get even worse. Manousos slips on a rock, falls and is impaled on a foamy palm tree, whose bark is covered in eight-inch-long thorns filled with bacteria. As others have warned, even the smallest cut can lead to a life-threatening infection. Being impaled by countless nails is therefore a recipe for disaster.

Manousos tries to burn the infection from the wounds on his back with his axe, which he heats over the fire that night. Unfortunately, this cannot prevent his condition from worsening. The next day, a weakened Manousos collapsed, maddened by the infection and physically exhausted by his exertions.

But when all hope seems lost, the others come to his aid, which Manousos has not wanted to receive since our meeting. The rescuers arrive on the scene by helicopter and although we don’t see them get him to safety we can assume they will make it.

The big question now is: where is Manousos? Since one of the others told him they would like to take him to New Mexico so he could see Carol in person, I guess they took him to a hospital in Albuquerque. If I’m right, we might find out that the duo finally gets back together in episode 8 or this season’s finale.

Does Carol try to commit suicide in the seventh episode of Pluribus?

In reality, things aren’t looking so good for Carol either.

Armed with the knowledge that the Others cannot turn her into one of them without a) obtaining stem cells from her and b) doing so with her consent, Carol once again begins to live her life to the fullest. Now knowing that she won’t live long as one of the thirteen surviving immune cells before the members find a way to convince her to join them, Carol begins to indulge in all of life’s frivolities.

At least for a while. After the end of the Handy part of The Gap, the story progresses for 34 days before ending with a depressed Carol. Sitting outside her house with a beer in hand and surrounded by the fireworks that Carol sometimes tries to light, she is visibly upset. Heck, Carol even seemed to be preparing to move forward when one of the fireworks was positioned to be shot directly at her. Experience an extremely close encounter as he flies in front of your face before exploding and setting fire to the roof of a nearby house.

The next day, Carol is seen going to the local hardware store to get a paint roller and a large container of white paint to write something on the asphalt of her cul-de-sac.

As seen in the image above, Carol paints the words “Come Back”. The reason? Even the most misanthropic person in the world lacks human interaction in real life. The clue is that the now-healed Zosia shows up in Carol’s driveway, and after a somewhat awkward confrontation, the emotionally fragile Carol falls into Zosia’s arms, holding back tears.

The final scene of episode 7 raises many questions. Is this the end of the others’ self-imposed break with Carol? Is Carol finally ready to work and live with them? Has Zosia really forgiven Carol for almost killing her? Multiple buses Episode 4? And will the status quo change again when (or rather when) Carol and Manousos are finally reunited? Hopefully, all these questions will be answered when episodes 8 and 9 are released on one of the best streaming services in the world.
