Samsung has just unveiled the beta version of One UI 8.5, the latest update to the mobile interface for the brand’s top smartphones. According to officials, this release not only accidentally leaks the design of the Galaxy S26, but also brings a number of new features and improvements aimed at “productivity, privacy and performance within the Galaxy ecosystem.”
In a blog post published to announce the update, Samsung says this beta “brings new, easier ways to create, connect and stay.” A series of optimizations that should interest many fans of the brand.
This update makes it easier to create content on a Galaxy device. Thanks to an evolution of Photo Wizard, it is possible to “generate new images without stopping”, so you can edit multiple photos without having to save them individually before completing the changes at once. Quick sharing service Quick sharing now recognizes people in photos and can offer to send photos directly to identified people.
In terms of connectivity, the Audio Broadcast feature now lets you send your voice to a connected speaker while you’re on the phone. Storage sharing has also been revamped: you can quickly access files on other Galaxy devices directly from the My Files app.
The official announcement also mentions new security features. Automatic lockout on authentication failure prevents you from logging into your device with a fingerprint, PIN, or password after multiple failed attempts. The identity verification system also protects more settings than before, increasing security even if your phone is lost or stolen.
