Just a few weeks after UBTech presented one of the most Videos of humanoid robots unintentionally disturbing On YouTube, the company announced one of the first achievements of the Walker S2 android: crossing the border between China and Vietnam.
IF reported by SCMPUBTech has just won a major contract ($37 million) with a Chinese province bordering Vietnam.
In the video, a clothes hanger shows a virtual army of Walker S2 robots looking, moving and walking together towards waiting containers. Each frame evokes scenes from the film, where a trailer blocks the path of Will Smith’s self-driving car and the giant door opens to reveal hundreds of mass-produced humanoid robots jumping from their position and attacking. The robots in the containers also remind me of other scenes from the movie.
However, the moment was a source of pride for UBTech, as the YouTube caption read: “An important milestone reached! The first mass delivery of humanoid robots has been completed! Hundreds of UBTECH Walker S2 have been delivered to our partners. The future of industrial automation is here. Let’s continue to transform!”
It now appears that a large number of these already manufactured industrial robots will be partially delivered to the Sino-Vietnamese border.
The UBTech Walker S2 is just one of many humanoid robots making headlines. there is this Time overview The Figure 03 and 1X Neo Beta wrap model, which, although mass delivery is still months away, is advertised as a $20,000 turnkey home helper and companion.
To what extent we do not know UBTech Walker S2 Cost, we have some specs for the 6-foot, 7-inch, 154-pound robot. It can operate at speeds up to 6.5 km/h, has a pair of dexterous hands with touch sensors and a built-in LLM for voice communication via built-in microphones and speakers.
There’s something vaguely dystopian about an impartial army of humanoid robots performing border duties, and one can only imagine that success in China might inspire humanoid robot companies to sell their robots to other border patrol organizations.
But because robots are not guided by emotions or prejudices, they can become wiser in cross-border activities. However, this may be an illusion.
What is certain is that government agencies and industries are increasingly interested in artificial intelligence and automation to perform repetitive and difficult tasks.
SCMP reports that UBTech plans to deliver 500 Walker S2 robots by the end of 2025 and 10,000 by 2027.
It is no longer difficult to imagine a future where humanoid robots operate in homes, factories, shops, offices and at borders. Things will definitely be better than before. me, robot.
