Ninja Lux Café Premier vs Ninja Lux Café Pro: What to Buy on Black Friday?

If you’re shopping for a coffee maker during this year’s Black Friday sale, the Ninja Lux Café will definitely catch your attention. This is one of the best coffee makers we’ve tested at TechRadar, but it comes in several versions and at different prices. Which one should I choose?

The two main editions that will be on sale during the Black Friday sale are the Ninja Lux Café Premier and the Ninja Lux Café Pro. Both are deeply discounted (the best deals are below). But why does one cost more than the other and is it worth paying more for? Read below to learn more about both devices and the best Black Friday deals so far.

Ninja Lux Café Premier and Ninja Lux Café Pro: Prices

The Ninja Lux Café Pro is more expensive than the Ninja Lux Café Premier. The regular price of Premiere is $549.99/£549.99 (about AU$850), and the Pro is priced at $699.99/£699.99 (about AU$1,100). However, both devices will get big discounts on Black Friday. See below for more details.

Ninja Lux Café Premier and Ninja Lux Café Pro: Technical Specifications

Ninja Lux Café Premier and Ninja Lux Café Pro: Design

The most notable difference between the two machines is the larger handle on the side of the Ninja Lux Café Pro, which the Lux Café Premier does not have.

The Pro version is also slightly larger and heavier than the Premium version, but the differences are minimal. The Ninja Lux Café Pro is about a half-inch taller, deeper, and a quarter-inch wider. It’s also 8 ounces heavier, but not enough to make a difference. If you choose the Ninja Lux Café Pro, make sure there is enough room on the left side of the machine to access the tamper.

Ninja Lux Café Premier and Ninja Lux Café Pro: Features

The biggest difference between these two machines in terms of functionality is that the Ninja Lux Café Pro has a lever-driven compression system that compresses the ground coffee evenly without the risk of spilling.

The Ninja Lux Café Pro offers more drink presets than the basic coffee maker. The Ninja Lux Café Premier offers 4 espresso styles, 4 coffee styles, 7 drink sizes and 4 milk foam settings. On the other hand, the Ninja Lux Café Pro offers 13 espresso styles, 4 coffee styles, 7 drink sizes, and 5 foam presets.

The number of drink presets alone probably won’t influence your decision. But it’s interesting to note that the advanced tamper isn’t the only difference.

Additionally, both machines come with a smart dosing system with a scale to help you grind the right amount of coffee in the filter basket, a feature that helps you select the right grind size, and an automatic milk frothing system (also manually accessible).

You can also use both appliances to make filter coffee or fresh cold brew (much faster than letting it brew overnight in the refrigerator).
