Shortly after the launch of Google’s Gemini 3 Pro, Anthropic announced an update for its flagship Opus model. Now to Version 4.5The new system offers industry-leading performance in coding, computing and office tasks. Not surprisingly, this has long been one of Claude’s greatest strengths. The good news is that Anthropic, along with Opus 4.5, is deploying a handful of existing tools more widely. A new feature will also be released.

First, the company’s Chrome extension, Claude for Chrome, is now available to all Max users. Anthropic is also introducing a feature called Infinite Chat. As long as you pay to use Claude, the chatbot will not respond to errors in the popup, ensuring consistency between files and chats. According to Anthropic, infinite chat was one of the most requested features from its users. Then there is Claudio for Excelwhich moves the chatbot to a sidebar in the Microsoft app. The tool is now generally available to all Max, Team and Enterprise users and includes built-in support for pivot tables, charts and file uploads.

Anthropic says early testers of Excel saw a 20% improvement in the accuracy of their internal assessments and a 15% improvement in higher efficiency. As a newcomer to Excel, I’m glad to see the company bring that experience to its more consumer-oriented Claude Sonnet and Haiku models.

On the other hand, Opus 4.5 also brings improvements to agent workflows, and the new model excels at refining processes. More importantly, Anthropic believes the Opus 4.5 is the safest model to date. According to Anthropic reviews, it defends better against rapid injection attacks and even outperforms the Gemini 3 Pro.

If you’d like to try Opus 4.5 for yourself, it’s available starting today through all Anthropic apps and the company’s API. For developers, prices for the new model start at $5 per million tokens.
