  • Capcom has revealed new gameplay for Resident Evil Requiem on Japanese TV
  • The game’s new segment features shootouts with main character Grace Ashcroft.
  • The game’s promotion may pick up with the Game Awards scheduled for December 11

months later Resident Evil RequiemWhile Capcom revealed 2025 during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, Capcom was tight-lipped about the next chapter in its action-horror franchise, often leaving fans frustrated with the marketing. But for now, it looks like this will end.

during the year inherent evil Special broadcast on Japanese TV (video is below), Resident Evil RequiemThe battle was revealed, with the game’s protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, fending off the zombies and spotting a supposed fugitive. AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem IN

For the first time, Grace Ashcroft is seen brandishing a gun and shooting at a zombie before being bitten and chased by another aggressive carnivore, in a sequence very reminiscent of ” Resident Evil 2. It highlights Capcom’s obvious attempt to return to the classic horror experience that longtime fans know from the franchise as we revisit Raccoon City in the game.

Although for many it is probably a satisfaction inherent evil As fans like myself finally see new footage after months of watching gameplay demos featuring the game’s stalker enemy, the timing and location of this reveal highlights just how strange and unusual Capcom’s marketing cycle has been for perhaps its most anticipated titles in recent years.

Fortunately, the marketing secrecy may have come to an end, with The Game Awards 2025 scheduled for December 11 (also hosted by Geoff Keighley), and this reveal suggests a bigger reveal is on the way.

Capcom has already confirmed that a Resident Evil reveal is planned for early 2026, and the Game Awards 2025 is the last big reveal where a big reveal would be ideal. Therefore, the chance of marketing acceleration is very likely, unless of course you are shown the exact same content. Still.

Analysis: I’m glad Capcom isn’t showing all cards in Requiem, but there’s no information

Of Resident Evil Requiem Since the game was already available for pre-order, many expected to at least see more of what the game has to offer in terms of gameplay and mechanics, but that was not the case.

I really appreciate that Capcom is doing their best not to spoil or leak too much of the experience ahead of the February 27th, 2026 launch, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to show the same content for most of the game’s marketing cycle.

While this has been done in a very strange way and the reveal seems to be exclusive to Japanese TV (keep in mind this is a popular franchise worldwide), it’s a step in the right direction and I’m sure a big character reveal awaits at the Game Awards, followed by a full gameplay reveal in January.
