We’re big fans of Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S, so there’s a lot of hope for whatever the sequel will be, and some more details about Meta Quest 4 have just leaked (though it might not be called that).
These details come from a virtual reality veteran. Nima Zeighami (Above Android Center) and confirms some of the rumors we’ve heard so far. We’ve also received new information about how much this device will cost.
According to the leak, the upcoming Meta AR/VR headset will be smaller and lighter, thanks in part to a separate external “drive” that houses the computer and battery components, something already mentioned by other sources.
Zeighami also confirms what we’ve already heard about the device having built-in eye and face tracking and a higher resolution display. Even with this screen upgrade, we don’t expect it to be as high resolution as, say, the samsung galaxy XR.

We also got a price hint here: Meta Quest 4 will apparently cost around $800 in the US. That’s around £610/AU$1,230 in current prices, although Meta is unlikely to use direct currency conversions for its international prices.
In comparison, the Meta Quest 3 currently costs $499.99 / £469.99 / AU$1,049.99, while the Meta Quest 3S starts at $299.99 / £289.99 / AU$499.99. We expect a big price increase and Zeighami doesn’t even know if there will be drivers.
Despite how we refer to the device here, this leak suggests that Meta will adopt a new naming scheme for its next headset and drop the Quest name, although we have no idea what the new name will be yet.
