Microsoft just released a series of software updates for ASUS ROG xbox Ally and Ally Perhaps the most notable feature is the introduction of default gaming profiles, which are available in beta mode starting today.
These are custom performance profiles that allow specific games to run smoothly on portable devices. Once enabled, the software automatically balances frame rate and power consumption to find the perfect balance. This means players don’t need to access the settings to make manual changes.
These profiles are currently available for 40 of the platform’s most popular games, including Fortnite, Gears of War: Reloaded AND Hollow Knight: Song of Silk. According to Microsoft, the default game profile is used when playing. silk songFor example, the battery life is extended by one hour. For this purpose, the profiles are only used when playing drums. I hope this becomes an integral part of the Ally experience and spreads to many other titles.
There’s a new search filter that lists games based on their performance on the device, which is sort of a variation on Valve’s “steam deck Verified” badge. Microsoft also claims that gamepad responsiveness has been improved and that game libraries now load faster. The company says this will be especially noticeable for “players with large game libraries.”
The cloud game page should now load faster and be more responsive. Finally, there’s the usual assortment of bug fixes and performance improvements. This is a nice set of improvements, just in time for the holidays.
