Google AI Mode gets new agent features and expands 180 new countries and territories worldwide, Google announced this on Thursday. The AI mode allows you to ask questions directly to Google and perform various searches on your behalf. From there, relevant information about your search query will be displayed without you having to search much yourself. Instead of just searching for things for you, the AI mode can now do things for you like finding dinner reservations, flights or concert tickets. The update also brings personalized recommendations and link sharing features to make it easier to collaborate with friends and family.
Most of the new features are limited to AI Premium subscribers and are running as experiments at Google Labs, but it won’t be long before they become a standard part of your future search experience.
Restaurant recommendations
Instead of searching for restaurant reservations and then clicking on a specific website to make a reservation, the AI mode shows you everything you need to complete the action there. Because it’s contextual, it can add details to your search that a traditional Google search wouldn’t handle properly.
You can add the type of cuisine, number of people, time and location in a single search and the AI mode will kick into action, showing real-time time slots for restaurant bookings for you to choose from.
Google says it’s working with OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster and many other companies to make it easier for you to find and get what you want, taking the worry out of it.
This feature is currently available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US who have enabled this feature. specific laboratory experience.
Personal recommendations
Another experience currently available in the US (which also needs to be enabled in Labs) is personalized recommendations. Google says it will start with food-related recommendations, suggesting there will be more options in the future.
The experience uses your previous conversations in AI mode, as well as the places you’ve interacted with in searches and maps, to give you suggestions that are tailored to you.
Share links in AI mode with others to collaborate
If you’re planning a vacation or a party, you can now share your searches instantly with others thanks to a new link sharing feature built into the AI mode. People communicating via the link will be redirected to the latest response sent by the AI mode and can independently continue the conversation to learn more about the topic. The original sender of the links can manage and remove them at any time.
