The new Pixel 10 series is launched Wednesday during the Made by Google eventand thanks to a combination of official looks at Google’s new phones and a lot of rumors, it almost seems as if we’ve already revealed the phones.
Google is not hiding the arrival of the Pixel 10, as the company itself has published several stylized images of the phone to promote the launch event. However, Google is still keeping the detailed specifications and features of the Pixel 10 series to itself, so we can’t get a full picture until the official reveal. You can find all the details in our live blog of the Pixel 10 presentation.
However, several recent rumors suggest that the phone line will be revived. While we expect the Pixel line to mirror the entire Pixel 9 lineup, including the base Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, rumors suggest significant changes have been made to what’s inside these phones, making them more feature-rich than ever.
We’ve rounded up the biggest rumors we’ve found about the Pixel 10 series so far here and will continue to update them as we learn more ahead of the event.
Here’s how to watch the Made by Google event
Pixel 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL release date, price and cameras
From the launch of the three non-folding phones in the Pixel 10 series on August 20, we expect the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL to look similar to the Pixel 9 series. This includes the same rounded camera bar on the back. The base model Pixel 10 has a new third camera on the back. While according to one, you can see the third camera in the images of Pixel 10 published by Google Overview of the famous fugitive Evan Blass. It’s a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens, along with a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. This makes the Pixel 10 better compared to the base Galaxy S25which also has a telephoto lens.
According to the same table published by Blass, the 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL will continue to differ from the standard Pixel 10 with a more capable camera system that includes a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens.
It looks like the colors of the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro phones have also been leaked Android titles reports that the base Pixel 10 will be available in Obsidian, Indigo, Frost and Lemonade editions. These names would roughly correspond to black, blue violet, light blue and yellow respectively. The Pro models will also be available in four colors. Pixel 10 supports Qi2 magnetic charging
The Pixel 10 series can support magnetic accessories, making it one of the few Android phones to work with many MagSafe accessories originally designed for use with apple’s iphone. In fact, the Pixel 10 is said to fully support Qi2 wireless charging, which supports magnetic orientation and integrates magnets into the phone without the need for a case.
NASTY Image posted by Blass It appears to show a Pixel 10 with a circular wireless charger on the back, likely with magnets, similar to how MagSafe works with the iPhone. If so, this is a big step forward for the Qi2 wireless standard, as the only other Android phone to support magnetic accessories so far is the Skyline HMD.
This would allow the Pixel 10 series to work natively with magnetic phone chargers, wallets, stands and other accessories. Google may even create its own brand for this feature Android Authority Report claims that the official Pixel 10 accessories that attach magnetically would be called PixelSnap.
If so, it would also facilitate the exchange of accessories between iPhone and Pixel. Combined with the iPhone supporting USB-C charging, this would mean that MagSafe accessories originally purchased for use with an iPhone should work just as well when upgrading to a Pixel 10 phone.
Google’s Tensor G5 chip
Following last year’s Tensor G4 chip in the Pixel 9 line, we expect the Pixel 10 phones to be powered by a (presumably named) Tensor G5 chip. We’ve heard a few rumors about the Tensor G5, including that it will be manufactured by chipmaker TSMC using an industry-standard 3nm process, according to a Android Authority March report.
Other rumors are less hopeful, like a report from July. WCCFTech This suggests that while the Tensor G5 is a significant improvement over last year’s Tensor G4, a leaked benchmark test indicates that it will run slower than the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor used in the samsung galaxy s25 series and the OnePlus 13. This Qualcomm processor may also soon be surpassed by the upcoming Qualcomm conference that will be showcased in September. This does not mean that the phone is slow as the same report claims that it is faster than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor that powers it.
Pixel 10 Pro foldable
Google released a video on August 12. This shows what the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will look like. This preview only gives a glimpse of the phone’s design, which appears to be similar to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and provides a more detailed look at specs and cameras for the August 20 event.
The more iterative design makes sense, as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold already underwent a major overhaul last year, changing the design from the original, wider, passport-sized Pixel Fold to a taller, slimmer form factor, similar to other foldable devices like the samsung galaxy Z Fold 7.
A rumor about a Pixel 10 Pro Fold from home WCCFTech he only shared details about the alleged Spanish chip that powers it. But a current rumor comes from Blas. suggests we can expect the usual updates: a new Tensor G5 chip, perhaps minor technical updates, and maybe even similar camera or battery upgrades when they’re announced for the Pixel 10 line.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold was likely to ship with Android 16 out of the box, but since this software update was released early (just a few weeks after Google I/O 2025), last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold already has this update.
We will continue to update this summary as we get closer. Google event on August 20 for the Pixel 10 series.
