After several delays, Analogue finally started shipping the 4K Nintendo 64 remake this week. This was great news for those lucky enough to get pre-orders, but the console was permanently out of stock after the first wave of shipments. But the company has now done that advertisement that the new stock of Analogue 3D will be ready for use from November 24.
You can place your order the same day from 08:00 AM PST. Orders will ship starting December 2nd once Analogue has completed all initial pre-orders. This bundle is also likely to sell out very quickly, and if you manage to get your hands on one, you’ll have to accept an (apparently fee-related) price increase of $20, whereas Analog 3D now costs $270.
Like previous analog systems, the new N64 uses a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) chip to emulate original Nintendo hardware. FPGA-based systems are more accurate than software emulation alternatives and offer lower input latency.
Analog says that all N64 cartridges are compatible, including PAL and NTSC variants, and that 3D can produce 4K variable refresh rate. You also get an “Original Display Mode” filter that lets you faithfully recreate the gaming look of your dusty old CRT.
A caveat: While our Analog 3D review praised the hardware design and robustness of the emulation, the biggest criticism of our review of the console is that it’s not very fun to play many N64 games in 2025. If you still have them Mario64 AND the ocarina of time If you have one in your closet, Analog 3D is sure to give you a wonderfully nostalgic holiday if you manage to get your hands on one next week.
