The Integral Memory SlimXpress 1TB external SSD delivers a sleek performance, though somewhat lacking in standout features. Notably absent are an IP rating, the utility-packed software bundles found in Samsung or Seagate SSDs, and even a carabiner, as seen with Netac or Sandisk devices. Crucially, it’s presently limited to the UK market.
Pros:
- Cost-effective in its category
- Robust construction
- Decent performance
Cons:
- Exclusive availability in the UK
- Modest two-year warranty
- Lacks an activity light
Exploring Integral Memory’s SlimXpress External SSD
Integral Memory may not be globally renowned, but it made waves in the UK market back in 2016 with the launch of the SVR100, an 8TB SSD. Now, I’m examining their latest offering, the SlimXpress.
Undoubtedly, there’s a striking resemblance between Integral Memory’s creation and the Netac Z Slim, as previously reviewed. However, our focus today revolves around three crucial distinctions: exclusive availability in the UK, enhanced speed, and a shorter warranty.
Examining the sleek black aluminum chassis and USB port placement, similarities hint at a shared original design manufacturer (ODM) with Netac.
Despite this, the SlimXpress outpaces Netac in both pricing and performance, positioning itself as a competitive option among established brands. Compact at 106mm x 32mm x 9mm, it boasts USB 3.2 Gen 2, the pinnacle of mainstream speed.
However, I wish Integral had included data recovery or backup software to further elevate its appeal.

INTEGRAL MEMORY SLIMXPRESS: BENCHMARK
Overall, Integral lived up to the promised 1.05/1GBps speeds. Notably, it reached 1.1GBps on CDM write, with a commendable 1GBps on write. The drive warmed during extensive use, as anticipated. For optimal performance, stick to USB Type-C over the bundled adaptor.
