Warning: Spoilers ahead Spartacus: House of Assyria Episode 2 is coming soon.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. It’s a saying as old as time, but Spartacus: House of Assyria Episode 2 took the philosophy to a new level.
The “Totorous” scene from Spartacus: House of Ashur Episode 2 is all I needed
Anyway, at the end of episode 2, a gladiator tries to sexually assault Achillia and she manages to fend him off physically. She is not pleased and makes an example to those around her by cutting off his testicles and making him bleed. I said it was awful.
“I think that’s exactly where Achilla was on this trip,” Davis told me. “It’s for anyone who’s ever been horribly wronged. Maybe you can imagine doing it and it would be intense.”
“It’s great to have a character that we can express some of that revenge with. Some of those emotions we sometimes don’t let ourselves express because it would just be horrible and painful. We would never do that to a human being. So Achillia definitely has a moment where she’s scared and does whatever it takes to survive. And in that situation, the mutilation, for that moment, is her showcase.”
If Achillia is here after only two episodes, I can’t imagine what happens next. Of Spartacus: House of Assyria Episode 3 comes out this week, the battles (physical and mental) only get worse.
Personally, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he gets rid of them all. It’s great that we have two strong female characters in such a male-dominated setting (Claudia Black from Cossutia and Achillia), and I know their presence will only grow stronger as the episodes progress.
Burn everything, I said.
