The widespread Cloudflare outage has taken many websites offline, but it appears to have been resolved.

If you’ve had internet problems this morning, you’re not alone. The infrastructure company Cloudflare has been affected what we call it “Print 500 errors, (with) dashboard and API neither.” Fortunately, these issues were resolved a few hours later, but there was still internet chaos on the US East Coast that day.

“Cloudflare is aware of and is investigating an issue that may affect multiple customers,” the company wrote in an update around 7 a.m. ET. “We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem.”

This morning at 9:50 a.m. ET, Cloudflare said the issue has been resolved. The company’s CTO, Dane Knecht, published it

Cloudflare is a leading Internet platform that provides networking and security products to ISPs, Fortune 500 companies and others. This includes edge computing and tools that protect websites from cyber attacks and help them stay online during Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks and peak traffic periods.

The problem affects many websites, including X, OpenAI, Spotify, Letterboxd and, ironically, Downdetector, a website that can usually tell you which other websites are down. Affected websites may display a message saying “Internal server error on the Cloudflare network” and ask you to try again in a few minutes.

The live report has ended.7 updates

Cloudflare’s CTO shared one Statement about XHe apologized and said the company would provide details of what happened later today. He also stressed that it is not an attack on the company’s systems.

“I won’t mince words: today we disappointed our customers and the entire Internet when a problem on Cloudflare’s network affected large amounts of traffic that depend on us,” he said. “The sites, businesses and organizations that rely on Cloudflare depend on our availability and I apologize for the impact we have caused.”
