Fortnite OG Returns as a Permanent Mode

Fortnite OG made a huge impact when it first came back. Each week, it reintroduced a classic season with updated features. Players loved it, and the mode saw a massive spike in popularity.

Due to its success, Fortnite OG is now a permanent part of the game. Epic Games has confirmed that the next season will begin in August 2025.

What to Expect from Fortnite OG

Fortnite OG will continue to rotate through Chapter 1 seasons. This mirrors the format used in late 2023, though each season now lasts a bit longer.

With the main Fortnite Battle Royale season now live, OG is ready to take center stage again.

Fortnite OG Season 5 Release Date

• Launch Date: August 8, 2025
• Live Event: Scheduled for July 26, 2025

The date comes from the in-game Battle Pass screen. Epic is also teasing a live event, though details are still under wraps.

How Fortnite OG Works

Fortnite OG first launched in November 2023. It brought back the 2018 map, starting with Season 5. Tilted Towers returned, along with classic weapons and fan-favorite skins.

Each week, the game advanced to the next season, moving through Seasons 6, 7/8, and 9/10. The mode ended in December 2023 but returned permanently in December 2024.

Now, Fortnite OG has its seasonal cycle and continues to evolve.

The Current OG Map

The current map is a faithful recreation of the original. Every tree, chest, and vehicle is placed just as you remember. In Zero Build mode, ziplines and ascenders help with movement.

Season 4 includes classic locations like Dusty Divot and Risky Reels. Expect more changes as new seasons roll out.

• Drum Gun & Dual Pistols – High damage at close range.
• Jetpack – Gain aerial advantage (limited fuel).
• Stink Bomb – Area denial with lingering gas.
