iiyama Campus PC: Tailored Ultrabook for Japanese Education

In recent years, there’s been a surge in demand for ultrabooks in education, especially with the rise of remote learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, iiyama has launched a super lightweight laptop tailored exclusively for Japan’s educational sector. Named the iiyama Campus PC notebook, it’s engineered specifically for student usage. Notably, it boasts an impressive 4-year warranty, aiming to provide reassurance not only during student life but also as graduates enter the workforce.

The original iiyama Campus PC made its debut in 2022 to craft the ideal laptop for students. Over time, it has undergone enhancements based on user input and evolving requirements, leading to this latest 2024 iteration.

The 14-inch iiyama Campus PC, powered by an Intel Core i5-1335U processor, boasts impressive specs. Equipped with 8GB of DDR5 RAM and a 500GB NVMe SSD, it runs Windows 11 Home. Additionally, it sports a non-glossy LCD screen with a 1920×1080 resolution, a webcam, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.

Specs and Benefits

For connectivity, it offers a variety of ports including Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, HDMI, a microSD card reader, and a headphone socket.

This new laptop, weighing less than 1kg, delivers up to 11.5 hours of battery life. It adheres to the stringent standards of the U.S. Department of Defense procurement standard, “MIL-STD-810G”, ensuring resilience to shock, vibration, and temperature variations.

Moreover, it comes with a 4-year warranty and 24/7 support. Face-to-face assistance is available at around 70 computer workshop stores across Japan. Additionally, buyers have the option to secure a minimum purchase price guarantee. This allows students to lock in a price for a higher-spec version of the laptop, which remains unchanged for two or four years.

The iiyama Campus PC is now on sale in Japan, starting from 129,800 yen ($872).
