iPhone 17 Colors and Features: What to Expect

Prototypes of the upcoming iPhone 17 series have revealed a preview of the possible color choices for Apple’s next wave of smartphones, pointing to a livelier approach for the Pro models if these ideas come to fruition.

Sony Dickson, a well-known Apple insider and tipster, has shared photos of iPhone 17 mock-ups featuring an assortment of tones, which he claims are informed by insider tips. The base iPhone 17 model is presented in an attractive, gentle pink hue, while the much-talked-about iPhone 17 Air shows off a snug, sandy beige shade.

The true star, though, is an iPhone 17 Pro prototype dressed in a vivid, standout orange. If this pans out, it might suggest a small but noticeable shift for Apple, as the Pro lineup has historically stuck to quieter colors—like the Desert Titanium seen on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which marked the boldest step for that premium collection, while other iPhone 16 Pro shades stayed with timeless options like white, black, and gray.

This new orange tone could add a splash of excitement to the Pro series. The mock-ups display an orange with a sleek, almost candy-like shine, softened by a pastel touch that fits seamlessly with the look of recent Pro designs.

A Peek at Possible iPhone 17 Colors and Features

Let me start with a disclaimer: these images floating around aren’t confirmed by Apple, and who knows where these mock-up units even came from. Still, I’ve got to say, the rumored color palette for the iPhone 17 lineup looks pretty cohesive.

For those who lean toward low-key vibes, the standard black and white options are there as always. There’s also chatter about a rich blue tone coming back for the iPhone 17 Pro models, which could be a nice throwback.

The regular iPhone 17 might sport a gentle blue and a soft pink—nothing too loud, just a subtle splash of energy. Then there’s the iPhone 17 Air, with whispers of a faint blue paired with a sandy yellow shade. Those hues seem like a perfect fit for a thinner, lighter take on the iPhone.

Over on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max side, the speculated colors play well with the rumored rectangular camera setup on the back. They somehow highlight the new layout while letting it meld into the phone’s design—does that even make sense? I think it does.

Now, about that camera change everyone’s buzzing about: I’m not totally convinced it’s happening. I can’t figure out how it’d improve the iPhone 17 Pro’s photo game. Apple doesn’t usually mess with its designs just to look cool, right? Maybe this new camera arrangement is a clever way to shuffle things inside, paving the way for a slimmer Pro model. That’s just me tossing out a theory, though.

Luckily, we won’t be guessing for long. Apple’s big iPhone reveal typically hits in September, so the wait for solid answers is almost over.
