The new Surface Laptop 5G is engineered for productivity, mobility, and seamless connectivity. It features:
- AI-powered performance with a 40+ TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU)
- Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors
- All-day battery life
- Integrated 5G modem for uninterrupted access to Microsoft 365 and other collaboration tools
Microsoft is offering three distinct models:
- A 13.8-inch 5G-enabled flagship model, available starting August 26
- 13-inch and 12-inch editions, available now
Why 5G Matters for Business Users
Microsoft says adding 5G was one of the most requested features from its business customers. The upgrade aims to deliver:
- Stronger, more reliable connections for video calls and remote collaboration
- Better support for field workers who need to stay connected outside traditional office environments
To ensure consistent performance, the Surface Laptop 5G includes a dynamic antenna system. This system:
- Uses six antennas that adapt in real time to how the device is held or used
- Automatically adjusts signal paths and power levels
- It is built into a new multi-layered laminate design that places antennas higher than in typical laptops, reducing interference and boosting signal strength
Seamless Connectivity Anywhere
The Surface Laptop 5G intelligently switches between Wi-Fi and 5G based on your location. It can also serve as a mobile hotspot, supporting both NanoSIM and eSIM.
Microsoft tested the device with over 100 mobile operators in 50 countries, ensuring global compatibility. This makes it easier for IT teams to:
