Capcom recently revealed plans to remove various Monster Hunter Rise collaboration content in January. In a Twitter update today (November 29), the company specified that the Sonic the Hedgehog, Universal Studios Japan, and Sengan-en DLC would no longer be accessible for download post-January 21, 2024 (via VGC).
Players with existing DLC can still utilize them if downloaded before the deadline. However, post-delisting, even owners won’t be able to re-download, resulting in the loss of rewards and respective quests.
Capcom emphasized, “Ensure you download this free content by [January 21] to continue regular use. Redownloading won’t be possible.”
Here are the details for the soon-to-be-delisted collaboration content:
Collaboration Content | Event Quests and Rewards |
---|---|
Sonic the Hedgehog | Gotta Hoard Fast! – Sonic Costume Palico armor, Tails Canine layered armor, Sonic, Knuckles, Tails figurines. Super Shay Look-alike – Sonic Wear Hunter layered armor |
Universal Studios Japan | Shine Showdown! – Azure Star Blade weapon, Azure Era Wyrmbow weapon. Azuros Onslaught! – Azure Era Palico set. Downloadable Palico: Meow Limit! |
Sengan-en | Downloadable Palico: Yasu |
Capcom hasn’t disclosed the reason for removal, but it likely involves an expired licensing agreement. Similar cases, like Friday the 13th: The Game, facing server closure in 2024 after delisting due to license expiration, highlight the recurring issue.
To secure these collaboration packs in Monster Hunter Rise, available on various platforms, act before they vanish permanently.
