Nothing Phone 2a: Confirmed Design and Specs Revealed

Share

Confusion surrounded the Nothing Phone 2a’s design due to conflicting leaks. However, recent investigation suggests one leak is likely fake, while the other holds some validity.

A leak by @OnLeaks, typically reliable, in partnership with SmartPrix, presented a design resembling an old prototype from Nothing Phone 1’s promotional videos. Further analysis indicates this design is unlikely to be resurrected for the Phone 2a.

Additionally, this design doesn’t match Nothing’s teaser text, “see the world through fresh eyes,” casting doubt on its authenticity.

In contrast, another design, featuring lateral cameras resembling eyes, aligns better with the teaser text. This design, supported by multiple leaks, retains the signature glyph lighting seen in previous Nothing phones, albeit with fewer segments.

Given the importance of glyphs in Nothing’s brand identity, it’s unlikely the company would abandon this distinctive feature.

The latter design is likely accurate, albeit with potential minor discrepancies, while the former is probably fake or an old prototype considered for the original model.

Aside from design, leaks indicate the Nothing Phone 2a features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, dual 50MP rear cameras, and a 32MP front camera, positioning it as a mid-range device with an affordable price tag.

Details regarding exact specifications, pricing, and the validity of the eye-like camera layout are expected to be unveiled at MWC 2024, commencing on February 26.
