While the chips may not debut in the upcoming iPhone 16 series, they are expected to feature in the iPhone 17 lineup, anticipated to launch in September 2025. Typically, Apple reserves its most advanced chips for its Pro models, implying that the 2nm chip might premiere in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max before transitioning to the entry-level iPhone 18 series the subsequent year.

The advanced manufacturing process promises significant performance enhancements, making iPhones faster and more efficient. Just as the transition to 3nm chips in Apple’s M3 series delivered substantial graphics improvements over its M2 predecessors, the 2nm chips hold promise for further advancements in the iPhone range.

Additionally, TSMC is developing an advanced 2nm processor named N2P, expected by late 2026. However, this timeline might miss the window for inclusion in the iPhone 18 Pro.
