Samsung’s Unpacked 2024: Early Event, Galaxy S24 Expectations, and Pre-Order Insights

Mark your calendars for January 17 at 1 PM ET – Samsung’s Unpacked event arrives early this year, a departure from the usual February schedule, and a noteworthy shift close to CES 2024. The venue is the SAP Center in San Jose and for those unable to attend in person, catch the live stream on various Samsung channels, including YouTube.

Despite Samsung’s characteristic secrecy, we can make educated guesses about what to expect at this year’s Unpacked. They will probably unveil the much-anticipated Galaxy S24 flagship smartphone series, with the possibility of opening immediate pre-orders. The company has initiated a “pre-reserve” program where you can register your name and email address, securing a pre-order spot for an undisclosed product.

The actual details of your pre-order remain a mystery until January 17. The good news is there’s no obligation, plus you get a $50 credit towards your purchase. This tactic, reminiscent of last year, seems to have been successful for Samsung.

In the previous iteration of Unpacked, we witnessed the Galaxy S23 lineup, with the S23 and S23+ offering modest updates. Considering this pattern, one can anticipate that the S24 will take things up a notch. In 2022, Samsung presented the Galaxy S22 smartphone line, following the tradition of unveiling new Galaxy smartphones at Unpacked, similar to Apple’s September iPhone announcements.
