- Galaxy S26 series may be announced in February
- If so, you’ll probably be able to purchase the device in March.
- There were many rumors regarding postponement of the release.
“Will Samsung release the Galaxy S26 series?”. Another twist in the long-running tale of. – And now, after much excitement, it looks like the phone won’t be available for purchase for some time.
In the words of an experienced weather forecaster: @UniverseIceThe Galaxy S26 is expected to go on sale in March after being announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event in February. Since no further details have been revealed, the gap between the launch announcement and the release date could be anywhere from one day to 28 days.
It will follow the Galaxy S25 series later this year, which was slated to launch in January 2025, but the launch was expected to be pushed back to 2026 phones. We think one reason for the wait is that Samsung has decided to cancel the Galaxy S26 Edge and bring back the Galaxy S26+.
There has also been internal debate within Samsung over what naming system to use for these phones, with Pro models being referred to from time to time. However, as of now it looks like the name will remain the same this year too.
About
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the Galaxy S26 doesn’t have a release date, but it seems Samsung’s schedule has changed since then, with previous rumors suggesting it would be announced in January and then launched in February.
Samsung is usually very good at releasing phones as soon as or after they are announced. For example, in the case of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, several weeks passed from the announcement of the foldable phone to the time it went on sale (in the meantime, pre-orders had started).
There are signs that the wait will be very long, perhaps reflecting a somewhat tumultuous year in terms of Samsung building its own products and deciding to release a successor to the decidedly unpopular Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (along with the iPhone Air).
As usual with the Galaxy S26 series, it looks like most of the major updates will be limited to the Ultra model. Year-over-year, you’ll see general performance improvements, as well as battery and camera improvements.
