Airbnb is testing the ability for users to order groceries via Instacart

Airbnb is testing a service that allows customers to order groceries via Instacart. as reported Bloomberg. This may not seem like a big deal at first, as guests can use any grocery app to fill the house with snacks during their stay. However, you can use this service before your stay.

This allows people to prepare in advance for, for example, a barbecue or similar event. I guess this will be very useful during some holidays. This responsibility lies with the hosts, who must store the food.

Airbnb offers hosts $25 for each completed order, as long as they put the food away before guests arrive. Of course, guests can order groceries via Instacart during their stay, but they must store these themselves. Guests can place an Instacart order up to three weeks prior to their stay.

This pilot program will launch on January 5, and Airbnb will test it for three months to see how guests and hosts respond. It is open to “select guests” across the United States in areas such as Phoenix, Orlando and Los Angeles.

This is just the latest unique integration from Airbnb. The platform partnered with ChargePoint last year to offer host discounts on electric vehicle chargers. This is an attempt to encourage hosts to install chargers on the site.
