Android updates are meant to make your phone better, but in the case of the latest update to the Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro series, it apparently did the opposite for many users.
The January 2026 update was rolled out to Pixel devices last week and includes bug fixes, security fixes, and improved GPU performance. But several Pixel 10 series owners report that their Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and, in some cases, the camera were also damaged.
9to5Google I discovered many discussion threads. reddit AND Google’s own forums. with complaints about these issues. Although it is not clear exactly how widespread this phenomenon is, it is not limited to one or two users. reddit poster In response to another victim of this error, he stated that “you are certainly not the only one.”
And while the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL models in particular appear to be affected, other Pixel devices don’t appear to be entirely safe, for example. Google Pixel 8 Pro owner He claimed his WiFi was also down.
It is not a practical solution
So what can you do? If you haven’t downloaded this update yet, we recommend that you wait, regardless of which Pixel model you have, but especially if you own a Pixel 10 series device.
If you’ve already downloaded this update and are experiencing these issues, we don’t have good news. Users report that they have tried rebooting, booting into safe mode, resetting network settings, and even resetting their phone to factory settings without success.
One user reported that disabling Google Play services and the Fitbit app resolved the issues. However, if you disable the first one, you will not be able to access the Google Play Store and many of the Google apps will not work properly either, so this is not a real solution.
The real solution is probably to wait for Google to release a fix, but it’s unclear exactly how soon. We’ve reached out to Google for comment and will update this article if we hear back.
