We’re expecting three new contenders for our list of the best Android phones when Samsung unveils the Galaxy S26 series early next year, and some new leaks have given us a better idea of what to expect from these devices.
Only when it was discovered Android AuthorityHidden in the unreleased Samsung One UI 8.5 code are images of the Galaxy S26 phones, the major software update expected to launch in 2026 alongside the new flagship phones.
We’re getting clear renders of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, the three phones slated to launch in January, February, or March (it’s been reported that there won’t be a Galaxy S26 Edge next year).
These images match previously leaked phone images, with the cameras stacked vertically on their own island and the corners curved. It looks like there won’t be any major design changes to the Galaxy S25 Review” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>Samsung Galaxy S25 phones.
A story in two parts
Our second leak comes from a South Korean media outlet. computer at home (Above GSMArene): Samsung’s plan is apparently to only use its Exynos 2600 processor in its home country of South Korea, and Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets in all other countries.
According to the IT Home article, current production issues and past technology issues contributed to the decision. It’s worth noting that none of the Galaxy S25 phones featured the Exynos 2500, although it appeared in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
It would be a surprise if the Exynos 2600 was ready in time and only appeared in models sold in South Korea. Samsung has already introduced its own chips in other markets and is rumored to do so again in 2026.
However, Samsung’s Exynos plans are notoriously difficult to predict and change from year to year (as we saw in 2025). For models and markets where the Exynos 2600 is not used, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will almost certainly be used.
