- OpenAI is reducing the number of free videos you can make with Sora to six.
- Google has limited the use of Gemini 3 Pro to free users.
- Image output in Nano Banana Pro has also been reduced.
Better access for Sora or Gemini 3 Pro users in the free version. Due to the high demand and high cost of GPUs, OpenAI and Google are quietly reducing the number of tips, videos, and images you can create without paying.
Notably, access is more limited today than it was a week ago.
Here are the changes: OpenAI is limiting free use of its AI-powered video creation tool Sora 2 to six videos per day. Meanwhile, Google has gone back on its promise of sending five messages per day on the Gemini 3 Pro and has provided fewer photos. Nano Banana Pro can only be generated twice a day for free.
“My GPU melted!” ,
Bill Peebles, head of Sora at OpenAI, wrote on X, “GPUs are starting to melt and we want to make Sora accessible to as many people as possible.” Free users can use up to 6 homes per day.
The expression “GPU crash” refers to the huge computational load that comes with creating video using Sora. Creating visual content requires more resources than creating text, so we need to limit the number of freely available videos to reduce the load on OpenAI’s servers.
There will be no changes to ChatGPT Plus and Pro accounts, Peebles says, and “anyone can purchase additional generations if needed.” Obviously, this solution is not suitable for users who prefer free.
gemini 3 pro limitations
Gemini 3 Pro, which launched last week for all Gemini users, initially offered up to five requests per day for free accounts and up to three photos per day through the Nano Banana Pro widget. This configuration was similar to that of the Gemini 2.5 Pro.
now google support feedbackAccelerated missions will be developed in Gemini Pro. A certain amount per day no longer causes problems. Free users get “Basic access – daily limits may change frequently.” Nano Banana Pro is limited to creating and editing two photos per day.
There will be no change for Google AI plan users. You can view up to 100 tips per day on the Pro plan and up to 500 tips per day on the Ultra plan.
Small fee for paid offers
The simultaneous emergence of Google and OpenAI may just be a coincidence, but it is also a sign that the artificial intelligence industry is maturing in the face of the huge costs associated with producing claims, images and videos.
Don’t be surprised to see more subtle changes over the course of the year, such as pushing users toward paid subscriptions, as business models attempt to adapt to the reality of how expensive it is to maintain modern AI services.
Demand is skyrocketing, GPUs are getting hotter, and AI giants are slowly nudging users towards premium products. Gadgets are here to stay, but the days of generous access to top-performing models without paying a dime seem to be coming to an end.
