stranger things Season 5 marked the end of the long-running Netflix series, and like any good D&D campaign, it had a fitting ending (although it didn’t satisfy everyone). However, the franchise is not yet finished as a new spin-off, Stranger Things: Stories from 1985, Will arrived on April 23rd.
It is impossible to ignore the cultural impact stranger things has had fans, but the recent release of the trailer has divided opinion on whether a spin-off is necessary. After such a confrontation with Vecna, surely it’s time to move on?
Not according to Netflix. Stranger Things: Stories from 1985 adds even more backstory to the mix, sandwiched between the events of seasons 3 and 4. The focus is on the main party of the original series, with all-new voice actors.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 has yet to convince fans
After an epic showdown in stranger things In season five, this seemed like a reasonable place to end things. I’ve said this before, but I have a lot of respect for storytellers who know when to stop, and as a result, some of my favorite TV shows have been short and sweet.
But when it comes down to it stranger thingsWe’re not done yet. Rather than serving as a prequel or direct sequel, Stranger Things: Stories from 1985 it’s sandwiched right in the middle and develops the story from that point onwards.
Again, this is an animated series with different voice actors as the main cast, so it will definitely be different overall. But even though I changed things up and tried a new approach, I still wonder what the point is.
Initial reactions were mixed. These are some of the posts I found on X in response to the new trailer.
As you can see, the response is very mixed and there are even claims that it looks better than season 5. We’ll have to wait for the April release to see if it’s any good.
Until then, many of the best shows on Netflix are waiting for you to watch. All of this will keep you going until April, that’s for sure!
