It’s official! The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be published on May 1, 2026. Surprisingly, it’s the weekend before the MET Gala, although it’s pretty clear what the fashion event of the season will actually be. It looks like we’ll see a crossover here as well, with actors in or out of their roles contributing to the sequel’s excellent PR.

I’m literally screaming as I write this, but the first trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is here.
We follow Miranda (well, technically only in heels) as she walks through the Runway office to the elevators. He steps forward, mimics his famous pose from the original film, and lets Andy join him.
Honestly, it’s the perfect trailer, but I think that’s all we’ll see this side of 2026. I’m putting my money on a full trailer coming out in January (but I’m just guessing).

Director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, who worked on the original film, also return for the sequel, along with producer Karen Rosenfelt.

Although Disney has not released a direct synopsis for the sequel, disk The magazine reported: “The plot under discussion centers on Miranda Priestly, Streep’s Wintour-esque protagonist, who faces the demise of traditional magazine publishing at the end of her career. She is forced into business with her former assistant, Blunt’s Emily Charlton, who is now a high-ranking executive at a Kering or LVMH-style luxury conglomerate that desperately needs Priestly.”
Of course, we know that Hathaway’s Andy will also return, but who Andy became remains a mystery.
The sequel will likely be inspired by the book. Revenge Wears Pradabut with additional elements not found in the original novel. IN VendettaAndy had just turned 30 and was getting married (during filming we saw a wedding ring on Hathaway’s hand). She had become a successful newspaper editor and worked closely with her survivor Emily before Miranda returned to her life.
Needless to say, we all know that Miranda is loosely based on Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who recently stepped down from her position after 37 years in the role. Whether or not we’ll see even a hint of it in the sequel remains to be seen, but given the proximity of Wintour’s release to filming, it’s not impossible.
