- WhatsApp is finally launching an official application for the Apple Watch
- It allows you to read entire messages, record voice memos, etc.

Five months after the launch of its first application for the iPad, WhatsApp once again pleases Apple users with an official application dedicated to the Apple Watch.
Previously, it was possible to read WhatsApp notifications from the watch, but this version brings a number of new features directly to your wrist.
This allows you to read all WhatsApp messages on your Apple Watch, even those sent too long by chatty friends. Reactions to messages are also available, including the ability to use emojis to quickly reply.
In addition to messages, the app also lets you receive call notifications, useful for seeing who’s calling without having to pick up your phone and for recording and sending voice messages directly from the watch.
Meta says you can also see more of your chat history through the watch. The goal is clear: recreate the mobile application experience to the maximum extent. In addition, even more useful features are already planned for Apple Watch users.
Which models are compatible?
The new WhatsApp app for Apple Watch can be downloaded starting today, as long as you have an Apple Watch Series 4 or higher running watchOS 10 or higher.
Since the Series 4 launched in September 2018, this means that models purchased in the last seven years are compatible. watchOS 10 was released in 2023 and Series 4 is the oldest to support it.
Although the app has not yet been released at the time of this post, it can be installed directly from the Apple Watch (by pressing the Digital Crown and then opening the App Store) or via iPhone by scrolling to ‘WhatsApp’ in the ‘My Watch’ section of the Watch app before starting the installation.
A new feature that especially owners of an Apple Watch mobile model should like, as it opens up the possibility to use WhatsApp almost in the same way as the iPhone, without having to carry the phone with you to run or exercise.
