The latest Marvel Rivals patch went live on May 8, 2025 at 9:00 UTC. Here’s what changed:

Event

  • Giant-Size Hive Mind
    • Round 1 starts May 9
    • Round 2 starts May 16

Store

  • New Sunshine Skins for:
    • Rocket Raccoon
    • Squirrel Girl

Emote System Improvements

  • Split into two wheels with dedicated hotkeys for faster switching
  • Set spray wheel to be shared across all heroes in Cosmetics menu
  • New quick-equip feature adds emotes to heroes automatically
  • When “Apply to All” is active, new sprays equip instantly

Visual Updates

  • Hero portraits now show currently equipped costumes

Bug Fixes – Maps and Modes

Marvel Rivals Balancing Changes

The latest Marvel Rivals update includes several hero adjustments. Here’s what changed for each character:

Nerfs

  • Captain America: Base health reduced from 650 to 600
  • Groot: Ironwood Wall health reduced from 700 to 600
  • Spider-Man: Amazing Combo damage radius decreased from 5m to 4m

Buffs

  • Doctor Strange: Eye of Agamotto (Ultimate) energy cost decreased from 3400 to 3100
  • Winter Soldier: Tainted Voltage now has 2 charge levels with same cooldown
  • Adam Warlock: New Quantum Magic effect – critical hits reduce Avatar Life Stream cooldown by 1s
  • Cloak & Dagger:
    • Cloak: Darkforce Cloak damage increased from 75/s to 80/s
    • Dagger: Lightforce Dagger hit damage increased from 15 to 18
  • Luna Snow: Light & Dark Ice damage falloff improved from 60% to 75% at 40m
  • Mantis: Life Energy Blast hit damage increased from 50 to 55
  • Team Up – Stars Aligned: Captain America and Winter Soldier’s Stellar Impact now gives 50 Bonus Health to nearby allies

These changes mainly boost Strategists by increasing their damage output and ability usefulness. Winter Soldier and Doctor Strange also received improvements.
