Philips Professional Display Solutions (PPDS) introduces the innovative Philips Urban LED 6000 Series, stepping into the outdoor LED display market valued at $29.87 billion by 2032.
Unveiled at ISE 2024 in Barcelona, the Philips Urban LED 6000 Series marks PPDS’s debut in outdoor LED displays, forming a crucial part of its collaboration with FC Barcelona.
As part of the partnership, PPDS becomes the official provider of LED and digital signage displays at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium, undergoing significant renovation slated for completion by 2026.
Philips Urban LED 6000 Series: Features and Impact
The new outdoor LED series introduces exciting possibilities. The Philips Urban LED 6000 Series boasts 10,000 nits brightness and a 7680Hz refresh rate, ensuring remarkable visual performance.
Comparing it to a computer screen highlights its power. However, it’s crucial to note the difference. While computer screens typically have refresh rates of 60Hz-240Hz, outdoor displays require much higher rates due to viewing distance.
Moreover, the series comes with an IP65 rating, making it resistant to water and pollutants. PPDS assures it can withstand temperatures from -20°C (-4°F) to 50°C (122°F).
In line with sustainability goals, the series is optimized for lower power consumption, running at just 280 watts per square meter.
Martijn van der Woude, VP of Global Marketing and Business Development, emphasized the significance of entering the outdoor display market and the partnership with a top football club, supporting the renovation of an iconic stadium.
