GTA 6: Rockstar Drops 2nd Trailer, Delays Release to 2026

Rockstar Games has just made headlines by unexpectedly releasing the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. This highly anticipated video comes more than a year and a half after the first glimpse, which was unveiled in December 2023. The second GTA 6 trailer video is at the bottom of the article for those in a hurry who prefer to skip the reading.

A Trailer That Truly Impresses

This new 2-minute-and-47-second video dives deeper into the world of a modernized Vice City, filled with flashy neon lights, absurd social media snippets, and sharp dialogue. We get a closer look at the main duo: Lucia Caminos, previously seen in the first trailer, and Jason Duval, her partner in crime.

These two outcasts never had a fair shot in a corrupt system and find themselves drawn deeper into a life of crime after a heist goes wrong. Highlights from the trailer include:

  • A nighttime car chase through Vice City’s glowing streets
  • The interior of a casino, which may be a central location in the game
  • Stunning heist sequences
  • Intense gunfights with a revamped combat system

The new GTA VI trailer is also available in 4K.

The Cast of GTA VI

In addition to Lucia and Jason, Rockstar’s official website reveals other major characters in the game. Meet Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, DreQuan Priest, Raul Bautista, and Real Dimez—presented in new images:

  • Boobie Ike
  • Brian Heder
  • Cal Hampton
  • DreQuan Priest
  • Jason & Lucia (2 different shots)
  • Jason & Lucia in a motel
  • Raul Bautista
  • Real Dimez

A Delay That Frustrates Fans

Unfortunately, the trailer also comes with disappointing news: GTA 6 has officially been delayed to May 26, 2026. Originally slated for a Fall 2025 release, the game apparently needs more time to reach the “expected and deserved level of quality,” according to Rockstar.

This delay brings the total wait to over 13 years since the release of GTA V, setting a record in the industry for a major franchise. The announcement has already caused Take-Two Interactive’s stock (Rockstar’s parent company) to drop by nearly 8%.

The release of this trailer just four days after the delay announcement appears to have a clear purpose: to calm fans’ impatience and reignite media attention. To support this new communication phase, Rockstar has also launched a dedicated GTA 6 website featuring visuals from both trailers and some storyline information.

Despite the frustration over the delay, excitement remains high for what promises to be one of the most ambitious games ever made.
