Samsung Brings AI Features to Older Galaxy Phones: Instant Slow-Mo Included

Samsung is gearing up to bring its AI features to older Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S23 series. Instant Slow-Mo, a feature from the Galaxy S24, will be available on devices like the Galaxy Tab S9, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.

Instant Slow-Mo employs AI frame generation to transform regular videos into slow-motion ones, demanding 16.6 milliseconds of processing time. It will be integrated into One UI 6.1, enhancing Galaxy S23 phones next month.

This feature will complement existing AI functionalities like Circle To Search, Live Translate, Note Assist, and Photo Assist. Updates will expand Instant Slow-Mo’s capabilities to support 10-bit videos, 480p resolution, and MOV files.

For users of older devices, this inclusion extends the lifespan and usefulness of their smartphones. However, opting for the Galaxy S23 Ultra over the S24 Ultra might not be wise due to price discrepancies and the promise of longer support for the latter.
