These Energizer laptops have very large batteries. Good luck trying to fly them.

The Energizer brand stands for sustainable energy and this is clearly reflected in Energizer’s design. Energizer EnergyBook laptops presented by the French design company Avenir Telecom.

Avenir manufactures mobile phones, chargers and cables with the Energizer brand. The first venture into laptops now involves batteries that pack so much energy that they likely won’t be allowed on many flights.

The company hasn’t released pricing or weight information for the laptops yet, but says the largest of its three laptops, the Energizer EnergyBook Pro Ultra, has a 13,000mAh/192Wh quad-cell battery capable of seven days of standby time and 28 hours of office use or 11 hours of gaming and graphic design.

You probably won’t spend those hours on a plane: Federal Aviation Administration bans portable batteries In most cases, the power is more than 100 watt hours. However, there are some exceptions for spare batteries between 101 Wh and 160 Wh, but only with the airline’s approval. The Pro Ultra breaks both limitations with 192 Wh. The FAA also requires portable computers with lithium batteries to be carried in the passenger cabin.

Avenir advertises the Ultra as its largest laptop battery to date, but airline travel restrictions may be why more laptop manufacturers haven’t gone this route.

“It’s great that you don’t have to worry about working near an electrical outlet and can take it anywhere except on an airplane for more than 24 hours, especially with an 18-inch screen,” Goldman said.

The EnergyBook Ultra has an AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 16GB of DDR4 ram, a 512GB SSD and an 18-inch 1080p display. Other laptops include the EnergyBook Pro 15 and Pro XL 18.5. No other specifications were provided for other models, including battery size.
