Your Pixel 10 may have issues with older wireless chargers

When google introduced the Pixel 10 series in August, it was one of the first android phones to receive the Qi 2 wireless charging standard, which Google calls Pixelsnap. However, almost immediately After the launch of the Pixel 10, people noticed problems with wireless charging.

Some people have problems charging their phone with the new one Pixel loaderand others have problems with older wireless chargers included Supports Google Pixel. Most problems occur when the phone has a case, regardless of whether it has a magnetic feature or not.

I have the Pixel Stands 1st and 2nd generation and both charge my Pixel 10 Pro XL perfectly when there is no case. But when I add a case to my phone the problems start.

I have three cases for my cell phone. Mou’s ultra-thin transparent caseHE Grecazo Magnetic Slim Case and an unnamed soft TPU case. When my phone has one of these cases and I try to charge it upright, it starts charging, then stops after a second or two and continues.

I can fix this problem on the first generation Pixel Stand by turning the phone horizontally, but it still charges very slowly. With the Pixel Stand 2 I can’t solve the problem at all: it doesn’t charge vertically, horizontally.

Not everyone has this problem.

A Google spokesperson told me that the Pixel 10 line isn’t optimized for older Qi wireless charging standards, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the phones won’t work with older wireless chargers.

Qi 2 is backwards compatible, but the height of the phone and the position of the charging coil on the phone and charger are still crucial factors. If you have any problems, try removing the case.

The prospect of having to replace your old wireless chargers with newer ones isn’t ideal, especially if you spent $80 on one or both of Google’s Pixel stands. But if you want to get the best wireless charging speed for your new Pixel 10 phone, it won’t be possible with wireless chargers that only support older Qi standards.
