While there are no confirmed leaks for the iPhone 16 release date, we can make an educated guess for the launch of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Here are our predictions for the iPhone 16 announcement date, pre-order date, and availability date.
iPhone 16 Announcement Date
Apple traditionally announces new iPhones in September, as seen with the iPhone 15 series, unveiled on September 12, 2023.
Typically, Apple prefers the first or second week of September for its announcements, often on a Tuesday. This year, the most likely announcement dates are September 3 or 10.
Occasionally, Apple holds events on Wednesdays, making September 4 and 11 possible as well.
While Apple has deviated from this pattern before, such as with the October announcement of the iPhone 12, it’s unlikely this year. Reports indicate that iPhone 16 production is on schedule as of May, so no delays are expected. Thus, September 3 or 10 are our best guesses for the iPhone 16 announcement.
iPhone 16 Pre-Order Date
Apple usually opens pre-orders for new iPhones on the Friday following their announcement. If the iPhone 16 is announced on September 3 or 4, pre-orders will likely begin on September 6.
If the announcement is on September 10 or 11, pre-orders will probably start on September 13.
These predictions hinge on our announcement date guesses. If Apple selects a different day for the iPhone 16 reveal, the pre-order dates may change accordingly.
iPhone 16 Shipping Date
Apple typically ships its new iPhones a week after pre-orders open. If pre-orders begin on September 6, the iPhone 16 will likely be available on Friday, September 13.
If pre-orders start on September 13, shipping will probably commence on Friday, September 20.

Will All Four Expected iPhone 16 Models Launch Simultaneously?
Based on previous launches, we expect all four iPhone 16 models to be announced and shipped simultaneously.
However, production issues could cause delays, as seen with the iPhone 12 series, where the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max shipped almost a month later than the other models.
Currently, there are no reports of production issues with the iPhone 16 series, so we anticipate no delays for any model.
